Warehouse – minimalist black & white home

August 24, 2010 by

Warehouse is a residential home in Hiroshima, Japan, which was completed in 2009, an open plan, single story house with minimal furniture and appliances and a cool black and white color scheme.

Designed by renowned architects, Shinichi Ogawa and Associates, Warehouse represents everything which is stylish about Japanese contemporary interiors, a yin and yang feel with minimal clutter.

The living room is a step up up from the kitchen and bathroom, with the black seating and media center the stand-out black color in the whole house. The bedroom is pure white, with only simple beds and wall-hung nightstands.

At a glance it would seem there is very little storage space. In fact, there is plenty, cleverly concealed in the wall units, the partitions which seperate one room from the next. Outside is an expansive courtyard, concealed by a frosted glass fence. This can be easily accessed via the vast sliding doors of the home.
