Villa Collani is located on the Spanish island of Majorca and is built over a massive 10,700 sq.ft. Unbelievably 1,230 sq.ft of the building is coated in 24k gold, mostly in the swimming pools and the house itself.
The brainchild of legendary designer Luigi Colan this ultimate luxury villa is a home which not only looks fantastic but is fitted inside with all the latest technological gadgets operated via remote control – from all the appliances, curtains and CCTV.
The villa is made up of four different sized circular structures, painted in dark yellow with white roofs. All four are connected by a series of terraces. The gardens host a number of contemporary statues and marble columns with gilded plinths, giving the home a Greek style feel and look.
Inside, it gets even better, with the luxury Mediteranean look continuing – with a genuine gold mosaic bathtub, intricate rugs and furnishings, and a pool which stretches directly to the outside of the house. There is white spindle banisters, gold elliptical balls, iron gates, palm trees and stone lion statues.
Villa Colani is the stuff of dreams, the kind of villa most of us can only dream of owning. When it was completed in 2009 it went on the market for a whopping $28 million, so it’s any wonder only a select few could enjoy such a luxury home.
