The home of Mexican artist, Gabriel Orozco. Designed by himself in collaboration with Tatiana Bilbao these vivid photos by Iwan Baan depict an architectural masterpiece.
Built on an unusual choice of landscape, a rugged cliff above the sea, depite its modern architectual design it blends in remarkably well with the background. The actual interior has a very basic feel to it, more of a classic look than contemporary. Incorporating a wenge and cream color scheme, the rooms look rustic and slightly weathered looking. Undoubtedly the defining characteristic of this unusual home is the rooftop swimming pool.
From the decking around the pool one can see nothing of the jagged rocks beneath, only sweeping panoramic views of the sea. The pool is perfectly round, large enough to fit at least fifteen people comfortably, and the decking has enough space for more than one barbecue.
On the side of the house is an open veranda, with a hammock, perfect for chilling out after a swim and watching the sun go down. More of a weekend retreat than a year round home, this beach house is the ultimate location for hosting beach parties, or as a stop off point before setting sail.
