Top 10 modern interior design styles of 2010

Taking a look back through the archives of the past year and gone through the many excellent modern interior designs we’ve showcased, we decided to combine a list of our top ten favorite designs of the past year.

When choosing the designs we considered our readers feedback at the time of publishing, and the reception the posts received, both in the comments here and on Twitter and Facebook.

We’ve chosen interior styles which we found to be the most dynamic and unusual, each with imaginative and innovative layouts, color combinations and furniture choices, offering inspiration to anybody wishing to design a contemporary home.

So, here it is – our top ten favorite interior design styles of 2010. Feel free to agree or disagree, and post any links to modern interior designs which have caught your eye over this past year.

Expansive Islamic inspired modern interior design
Designed by Ehrlich Architects, the main entrance is flanked by date palms. A reflecting pool flows indoors, providing cooling to the interior. Wikileaks interior design – underground ex cold war bunker
The base of controversial whistle-blowing site Wikileaks is a twelve hundred square meter underground anti-atomic bunker. Originally built in the cold war years to survive a nuclear attack, the bunker is built thirty meters below the surface into the granite rocks of the Vita Berg Park in Stockholm. This stunning black and orange interior is the living and dining area of an open floor apartment by Oneione. Tamizo Architects Group are from Lodz in Poland, a young and innovative company who thrive on contemporary industrial and residential designs. Made up of four ambitious designers, they are mainly involved in modern projects whose source is simplicity and functionality, acting according to the philosophy of ‘less is more’. Influenced by their neighbours, Polish interior designs have a similar look to Russian and German modern interior styles,
