Stairs are high-traffic areas that often come with very little visual interest. Plain carpet. Wood. Possibly a few pictures to break up the wall area going alongside them.

Giving your stairs a makeover can demonstrate your creativity and add visual interest to what is often one of the more overlooked, but often used, areas of a home. Using paint and/or wallpaper makes it an easy and inexpensive–though sometimes labor-intensive–project.
