Who says paint’s just for walls? Some people aren’t pained by the idea of painting over hardwood floors if it means adding interest to a room, though others will hesitate to cover the beauty of traditional wood floors.
If the hardwood in your home could use an update and you’re not especially attached to the finish, using a pattern or a single color could be the fix you’re looking for.
If you’re really patient, creating a large pattern on your floor can provide a stunning result. It will require quite a bit of planning and time. It can be as detailed as you’d like, or something as simple as a checkerboard look, but it’s a fabulous and unexpected way to introduce color to a room, tie rooms together, or make rooms look longer or wider.
If you’re low on time or patience, or you just don’t like a busy pattern for your floor, there’s always the option of choosing a single color, painting it, and sealing it.
You don’t need to be an artist to have a gorgeous painted wooden floor. The wearing over time will add to its charm.
