James Bond interior – Lautner’s Elrod House Tour

September 5, 2010 by

Perhaps one of the most architectually significant houses to feature in a movie, the Elrod House was made famous by its appearance in the 1971 James Bond classic, Diamonds are Forever. At the time it marked the beginning of a trend for wide open spaces, minimal design and bold and experimental architecture.

Designed by John Lautner, the house still holds its modern appeal today, and because of its role in such a popular movie, will no doubt remain an iconic classic home. The most striking aspect of the interior is the way the living room opens up onto the pool area, with sweeping views from the balcony.

This guided tour is a gallery of the interior with informative details on each room.
