The opening ceremonies for the 2012 London Summer Olympics will be held on July 27. Since the Games are only held every four years, it’s the perfect excuse to throw a party and you will want to be sure that you have the right decorations to fit the occasion.
This Olympic Spirit Centerpiece will immediately draw attention to your table and set the tone for the party. This one, from Awesome Events, Inc., measures 15 inches in height and features the five Olympic rings.
You will have to spend about 15 minutes assembling it before your guests arrive, and some basic tools (scissors, glue gun, spray adhesive) will be required.

If you like the idea of a centerpiece but want something you can use right out of the box, Awesome Events also has the Olympiad Superstar Centerpiece. This centerpiece is available in a number of colors, including apple green, navy, pink, gold, yellow, and orange.
You can also choose the color for the secondary foil on the centerpiece to coordinate with your decor or the flag of a favorite country.

An international flag table runner is a way to add some color to the room and honor the spirit of the Games. Have some fun with your guests to see how many of the flags they can name. (If you aren’t sure of all of them yourself, do a quick bit of research online before the party.)

You may not have been one of the people selected to carry the Olympic torch on its way to London, but you can display this cutout at your party. It measures 24 inches in length and is printed on both sides.
You may want to order several of them to hold aloft while you enjoy the events of the 2012 Olympics and watch the athletes who have devoted so much of themselves to the pursuit excellence in their respective sports. “Faster, higher, stronger,” indeed.

Love the table runner!
These are cute props! I remember four years ago a neighbor had her son’s birthday party as as Olympics-themed event at a big park, and all the kids competed in fun outdoor events to win “medals” and it was a huge success.
