Designed by Nicolas Thomkins of Dedon, the inspiration for the Yin Yang chairs came to him on the island of Cebu’s beach of Olango, where he first sketched the first draft in the sand with a stick.
Uniting the two opposite forces of ancient Chinese philosophy, the two seperate elements combine to diaplay a harmonious interplay of colour and form. The alternating convex and concave surface comes in the two contrasting colours of bronze and platinum.
The shape of the chairs resembles stones worn away by water or sand dunes shaped by the wind. A really stylish design that looks most effective in open spaces, preffably beneath a raised area where it can be viewed from above, so that the Yin & Yang form can be most appreciated.
