Timeless classics – Tonon upholstered chairs

June 14, 2011 by

The Questionmark chair, designed by Stefan Heilinger for Italian table & chair manufacturers, Tonon, won the 58th annual Good Design awards. Former curator of the Museum of Modern Art, Edgar J. Kaufmann founded the awards in 1950, and they have since become a benchmark in setting todays modern trends.

The Questionmark chair is simply stunning, a one piece swirl which curves effortlessly gliding from floor to seat to backrest. The Heartbreaker chair has a sumptuous heart-shaped headrest and wide open arms.

While many of Tonon’s chair designs are quite understated, their appeal often lies in their simplicity.

The Wave range offers an elegant minimalistic design in bar stool, director’s chair and office seat.

The D-shaped Shape, Matchball and Stage are particularly stylish modern seats , with prominent backs and spacious armrests, while the Fusion chair has an unobtrusive style with a rear-hugging backrest.
