The Rocking Chair That’s Oh-So Unique

June 12, 2009 by

It’s just not the design that’s unique about this chair, it’s the name too! The Dondolo-Dondolino Rocking Chair isn’t your average rocking chair. Forget that impression that all rocking chairs are made out of wood and used by our grandparents and welcome in the urban-inspired, new age rocking chair that makes your living space fresh, updated and young.

The Dondolo-Dondolino Rocking Chair comes in to separate pieces which are the Dondolo and the Dondolino. The Dondolo is the rocking chair itself with fully removable covers and is designed with metal structures with elastic belts to hold the rocking chair together. The seats are sturdy and curvy, which is designed in the dynamics to make it swing back and forth effortlessly and is made in cold injected polyurethane foam complete with back in stress resistant polyurethane foam and covered in polyester fiber. You can even upholster the Dondolo with felt and all other fabrics that are available in the Paola Lenti collection.

The Dondolino is the rocking pouf designed with the same aesthetic and material quality as the Dondolo such as its fully removable covers, metal structure and stress resistant polyurethane foam covered with polyester fiber.

The Dondolo-Dondolino Rocking Chair is designed by Francesco Rota who is also the designer with many awards in his belt such as the International Audi Design Awards “Life in Motion’. Born in 1966, Milan, Italy, Rota graduated from the Art Center College of Design in Switzerland and went back to Milan to establish his Francesco Rota Design Office working in major projects for big labels such as Versus and John Richmond, L’Oreal, Nestle and Daimler Chrysler.

The designs focus on simplicity, serenity and youthfulness. It is a unique piece that is simple, practical and aesthetically pleasing and doesn’t look cramped up. The rocking chair is perfect for lounge areas and the patio, to just lay back and relax.
