Spline wooden chair with a twisted and unusual form

December 22, 2010 by

Spline is an unusual modern chair by Unto This Last, crafted into a twisted form, which when viewed from the side looks like a randomly drawn squiggle. Made from Latvian birch plywood, from FSC-certified forests, as the core material, this wood was chosen for its structural integrity, lightness and sustainability.

Unusual as it is crafted from one complete form, rather than several components, Spline looks both surreal and gravity-defying. Available in white, oak or dark brown, the central structure of Spline is made of numerous slats, making it an ideal placement alongside window shutters and modern vertical blinds. As the chair has a distinctive rustic and summertime appeal it is also perfect for modern tropical interiors.
