“Simple is nice,” declares the mantra of MDF Italia, a Milan-based company that designs and manufactures furniture that is, not surprisingly, very simple. Simplicity, though, needn’t be modest or mundane; true to its Italian design roots, the company executes its concepts with a sensual flair, hinting not so subtly at its commitment to living la dolce vita with its swooping curves, sharp angles and dramatic lines throughout.
Its “Lofty” seating series is perfectly illustrative of the brand’s broader offerings: its two elements, the chaise lounge and arm chair, mimic each other’s lines without being too matchy; the cantilevered effect of each makes the inhabitant appear to be in a state of suspension when seated in either.
Presented in two drastically different options — stainless steel or leather with removable upholstery — the armchair is 63 cm tall, 80 cm long and 75 cm deep, rotating up to 180 degrees, while the lounge is 140 cm deep and just a smidge taller than its counterpart.
The steel version is available in limited production, while the leather and upholstery offering is more widely accessible. MDF Italia exports to 43 countries throughout the world.

These are great! To have such a chair is to make a statement “I am bold. I dont need detail to bog me down.”
