Sometimes, a room just needs a good chair or two to make it feel more like home, or maybe just to wake up the space a little. For those without the most luxuriant budget for high design, nor the time for drawn-out vintage treasure hunts, IKEA has long stood as a staple of eye-catching, affordable design.
And now that its latest catalog is out of the bag, the options for great seating seem endless.
The Klippan loveseat, shown above in bright yellow, cheers up a room simply by being there; its 90-degree angles betray its whimsical hue with a highly functional seating solution that won’t strain the wallet.
The modern turquoise series below, on the other hand, has an equally happy yet utterly tranquil effect:
But perhaps the star of IKEA’s 2012 offerings is its PS 2012 easy chair, aptly named since it will likely be one of the Swedish retailer’s biggest sellers in the upcoming year.
Available in a wide range of powder-coated colors and also offered alongside a sofa and coffee table from the same series, we predict big things for this tall metal chair and love the way it looks in white with a bold-colored sofa alongside it.

Love Ikea — I have my eyes on the Ektorp loveseat. I love that it has a slipcover!
That “easy” chair does not look comfortable! Is it?
Gotta love Ikea for getting ready for college, your first apartment or your first home. Great stuff.
