Furniture With Colors So Bright You’re Going to Need Shades

August 29, 2012 by

The furniture times are changing in favor of bold shades like neon pink, teal, yellow, and electric green, according to trend watchers, which would seem to signal better times ahead for furniture manufacturers.

Buyers who attended the recent Las Vegas Market show were interested in pieces like this Mr. B. Riches chair from Cyan Designs. Measuring 31.5″ W x 35.5″ H x 29.5″ D, it will add a rich splash of color to any space.

The trend toward what has been described as “in your face” colors doesn’t stop with chairs, though. Another popular item featured at the show were these Surya poufs.

These cushion-like items are placed on the floor and can serve multiple purposes. Use them to put your feet up when you want a comfortable place to rest or as extra seating when you need it. Some people even use them as a coffee table in a pinch. No matter how you use your pouf, consider one of the eye-catching designs offered by this company.

No one is suggesting that you outfit your room entirely in neon anything, but if you want to give your existing decor a lift, try adding a bit of color with an accent pillow or a throw. That way, you can get used to brighter colors in the room before making a more radical change.

If you want to get your foot wet (as opposed to just sticking a toe into the bright color pool), a brighter chair, ottoman or pouf is a good next logical step.

After years of neutrals and earth tones, these brighter colors are a nice change. But what on earth am I supposed to do with a house full of earth tones now??
