This is just one room in a whole bungalow designed by Karim Rashid. It was created for the Sci Fi channel and the Morongo Casino in Palm Springs FL in 2005.

The design starts with a bold purple carpet, with dark lime rugs. The seating consists of one large white sofa, and three individual chairs in differing shades of pink, purple and lavender. Yet it’s the shapes, not so much the colors, that give this science fiction living room its futuristic appeal, with an emphasis on wide curves, reminiscent of the archetypal flying saucer.

A large LCD TV screen is set in an egg-shaped backlit mirror, and one can download and watch the entire archive of movies from the Sci-Fi channel in HD. Pull back the curtains to this contemporary and futuristic living room, and one can step outside onto the patio and pool area. A novel, yet luxurious bungalow design.
