Quilts are Making a Comeback to Warm Up Your Home

September 12, 2012 by

One of the trends which will be coming to a retailer near you over the next few months is the quilt. These colorful items are decorative and practical. If you are fortunate enough to own one, don’t relegate it to a shelf in a close or a blanket box. Bring it out and display it with pride instead.

One simple way to make your quilt a piece of art that you can enjoy every day is to hang it on the wall. You will, of course, want to avoid piercing the fabric of the quilt with nails or screws, but you do have some options. Some people drape the quilt over a curtain rod and hang it up, while others use clips to attach it to a rod.

A light quilt can be used as a table or runner. Consider using one in your kitchen or to add interest to an end table. Seasonal quilts are a wonderful choice for this purpose if you are looking for a simple way to decorate your home for Christmas.

Of course you can always pull out a beautiful quilt and put on a bed, either in your room or a guest bedroom. They can also be folded at the foot of the bed if you prefer. You can even display your quilt in your living room by putting it on a rack or folding it over the back of your couch or a chair.

Either way, these practical works of art are ready for chilly fall nights or anytime you want some extra warmth.
