How do you define comfort when you are looking at a chair for your home? If you are thinking about adding an easy chair to your seating options, you don’t necessarily have to go with a recliner (although having the option of being able to stretch out and put your feet up after a long day is a nice feature).

If you don’t have the space for a recliner or you want to consider a different look for your home, a club chair is definitely an option.

This easy chair design has a low back and is based on the type of seating used in gentlemen’s clubs in England in the 1850s. The heavy sides form the armrests, and this type of chair is available in a wide variety of colors to suit any decorating scheme.

It’s comfortable and versatile, which is why this silhouette is still in use today.

The tomato chair is a more modern interpretation of the easy chair. It was designed by Eero Aarnio in 1971.

The design may look complicated at first, but is based on three circles of the same diameter. Two circles make up the armrests and another one is stretched to make up the back of the chair. The other half is used for the seat.

The result is part sculpture, and part piece of furniture.
