New York City art deco terrace apartment renovation

March 14, 2011 by

This renovation of two large apartments in a 1929 art deco building in Central Park West, New York City was designed and completed by Bonetti Kozerski Studio. It is a warm and tactile apartment design, decorated in travertine, dark stained teak and Venetian stucco, and with a large terrace to step out on to.

Situated on the floor level, set back from the street, the front of the building has large wraparound terraces. The home includes entertaining areas, private and service spaces, all interlocked in a large expansive open plan design.

The exterior terraces are enrolled as a main feature in the overall composition of the apartment, continuing inwards as horizontal cantilevered planes. Rich brown is color of choice for the furniture, an ideal match for the beige tiled floors, cream carpets and white walls.

From the terrace the resident can kick back and enjoy the stunning views of the Manhattan skyline.
