Today’s link roundup features the room in which we read, watch television, chat about subjects of interest and generally zone out from the rest of the world.  Although living rooms started out as formal sitting rooms in which everyone was expected to maintain good posture and proper manners…well, the times, they are a-changin’.

First up is the feature Design Milk‘s pulled together on Kenneth Cobonpue’s new “Cabaret” collection, including the eye-catching couch pictured above.

Need some drapes to match the furniture? Furniture Fashion comes to the rescue with a roundup of 10 beautiful window treatments, like this gorgeous DIY flutter curtain from Kojo Designs:

If you’re a sucker for stripes (like yours truly), then Architectural Digest has a visual feast for you to enjoy. Check out its gallery of 15 stripe-tastic rooms and try not to get dizzy.

And last but not least, a bit of good news: here at Interior Complex, we’ve been nominated for the “best home design blog” award in The 2012 Homies, a design blog contest hosted by the good folks at Apartment Therapy. And you can help! We’d love it if you’d vote for us; the first round of voting ends tomorrow, after which the top six blogs from the very long list of nominees will go head-to-head for this year’s title. Tell all your friends, and let’s get out the vote!
