Living room with brickwork and decorative wallpaper

September 29, 2010 by

This simple and elegant living room design is by Russian interior design company Redo Studio, a mix of bare brickwork walls and decorative wallpaper. Named the Single room, the interior has light beech flooring and a lush cream rug.

The wallpaper, which is only used on one wall as a backdrop to the sofa, is black with large white floral patterns. Separating the kitchen from the living room is a floor to wall partition, made up of black and white circles, placed in random patterns. No modern living room would be complete without a widescreen TV, and with the Single room the furniture for the TV is a contemporary curved stand and wall storage unit.

Having the brickwork exposed in a living room, rather than plastered, is an old technique which compliments interiors with the correct balance of decoration and colors. Here, Redo Studio use a combination of black and white with beige furniture, keeping the color scheme simple and uncomplicated. This subtle use of colors enhances the brickwork effect and gives the room an overall character of neatness.
