Living room design with wood features and minimalist furniture

December 13, 2010 by

A fine example how excessive wooded features still have their place in modern interior designs, this stylish living room was designed by Marcio Kogan, a fantastic blend of natural elements and minimalist furniture.

The wood, a warm cherry tone, runs throughout the living room – on the flooring, the support beams and the panelling around the wide windows. A huge beige rug sits on the floor, with a simple chocolate brown U-shaped sofa and matching black minimalist coffee table. A couple of bold red contemporary chairs are also added for more color substance.

The room has no TV like conventional living rooms, instead an industrial style fireplace takes its place as the focal point from the sofa. To watch TV here would be a waste anyway, as the outside jungle environment seen through the large windows offers enough to keep ones mind occupied.

The luxury wooden features don’t just end in the living room. They run through the hallway and out onto the balcony outside, where the wood blends nicely with the natural environment.
