So many homeowners feel as if they’ve outgrown their homes within a few years of moving in and accumulating items in almost every room. There are several opportunities to “find” storage space or build it into the current décor.
One of the simplest ways to create more storage space is to cover a table and then take advantage of the room underneath it.
It’s possible to store smaller items without making an area look cluttered when you use a storage bin that looks like books on a bookshelf.
A bathroom can quickly become one of the most chaotic areas of the house, especially if it’s shared between two or more people who use different hair and body products. The bottles alone can be difficult to manage.
Creating a little extra storage space around the shape of the tub gets lotions and potions out of sight and doesn’t take up a lot of space the way an extra set of freestanding drawers or bins might.
Stairs can feel like quite a bit of wasted space. Inserting a drawer under each one massively increases the amount of storage space and might take care of the pile of shoes by the door.
Walls can even be turned into secret storage areas in some cases, giving you a place to store smaller items that would otherwise become jumbled up in a junk drawer.
Getting creative with storage options can make a house feel almost new again. Removing the clutter without the worry that those items will be needed later can allow you to refresh your living area while maintaining peace of mind.
