Topiaries just have a way of making things feel festive — whether dotted with tiny white lights to signify the holidays or simply trimmed to perfection to remind us we’re enjoying an environment in which everything is impeccably groomed and attended to, they lend a sense of occasion and grandeur.

Grander still are elegantly twisted versions of the English classic; from rosemary trees to dwarf spruce saplings, a well-placed pair or series of spiral topiaries are a study in symmetry and an exercise in excellence.

Whether they’re on display at a country club or flanking the front doors of a private residence, they all announce one unmistakable thing: you have arrived.
