The bowl is designed by Dan Black and Martin Blum, the founders of Black & Blum. Dan’s passion for design was recognized when he graduated with first class honors from the Design for Industry course at the University of Northumbria (Newcastle) and has since worked with IDEO, Frog Design and for Julian Brown at Studio Brown. Martin gained his industrial design degree at University of Northumbria as well and draws his cultural and design reference from his juxtaposition of his Swiss youth and affection for all things British. Having completed successful projects together, their creative partnership is now Black+Blum. The many designs from Black+Blum are created with the design philosophies of both partners-simplistic, minimalistic but impactful.
