Flo – a modern minimalist sideboard

May 17, 2010 by

Two words best describe the Flo sideboard – stunning and simple. Designed by Duccio Grassi a piece of furniture such as this is the perfect accompaniment to a minimlalist style living room.

The base is chrome, and is unusual as in at one end it is two pronged to support one end of the sideboard, but then is singular and narrow, holding up the rest of the piece. There is a very noticeable gap in the furniture, above the base, and this gives the effect that the compartment on the end is floating in thin air. This gap is ideal for decorative ornaments or flowers to bring the sideboard to life.

There are no handles on the drawers, no trims or decoration, giving the whole piece the most simplistic appeal. A minimalist sideboard like the Flo you would think would be inconspicuous, yet because of its unusual design it is most certainly eye-catching.
