Well known for her contemporary architectural projects, Zaha Hadid has now turned her visionary design ideas to the kitchen area. Created for DuPont Corian, the futuristic Z. Kitchen Island looks like an appliance from the far off future or one inset into a spaceshp.

Including multimedia equipment, the system incorporates sound actuators and LEDs. The solid surface has an embedded centralized touch-control panel, enabling users to surf the internet, listen to music or a recipe video. The overall white design gives a clean and sanitized appeal, whilst the defining feature is the curved side with embedded LCD screen.

The kitchen island also has all the functionality of a modern kitchen, with a unique layout which makes it one of a kind, creating an intelligent environment which responds to the users senses and desires, whilst achieving a range of conventional and innovative kitchen concepts.
