Time to Update Your Kitchen Sink? Check Out These Modern Options

September 11, 2012 by

If you are looking to upgrade your kitchen, don’t overlook the details. Modern consumers are no longer limited to the standard shapes or materials anymore when choosing one, especially if you plan on doing a lot of entertaining.

One option for a country kitchen is a cast concrete sink. This material is growing in popularity due to its smooth, low-luster finish, natural appearance, and high durability.

Cast concrete is available in a number of custom colors, or you can choose from ready-made pieces. With proper care, this type of sink could last a lifetime.

The Kohler Fete kitchen sink is an undermounted bar sink which has an upper and lower basin. The sink is made from enameled cast iron and is scratch, stain, and burn-resistant. It also comes with a matching cutting board.

This model is an excellent choice if you are looking to outfit a kitchen island or a bar area, and its striking design will definitely draw the eye to the part of the room where it it placed.

The Kohler Prologue is an under-mount style kitchen sink which doubles as a workspace. Made from stainless steel, it includes a cutting board and a colander, so that you can easily work directly over the sink.

This model even includes a sound-absorption system which reduces the noise made by your dishwasher and garbage disposal unit. It also keeps the level of condensation under the sink low when the temperature rises.

I cant see what’s wrong with my sink until now. especially since I’m a big dish washer (read, i wash dishes by hand every day, and i dont complain, i like it) i would be afraid to try new things, unless you swear it’s easy to keep with a sink load of greasy plates.
