We could all use a little humor in our lives. Luckily, Lenny Mud (real name: Lorrie) has just the thing to make us laugh before we’ve even poured our morning coffee. The original purveyor of the “HELLO” pottery series (prominently featuring singer Lionel Richie’s face on coffee mugs and teapots bearing the words “Hello – is it tea you’re looking for?”) has a broader line than the one emblazoned with the now-immortal 1980s pop lyric.
Her handmade pottery includes a little Star Wars geekery as well as homages to Mr. T, Mary Tyler Moore, Dr. Who and a handful of classic horror movies, among others.
Although the HELLO series has been replicated many times over to the point of utter virality through the likes of every social media channel online, Mud takes it in stride and simply asks customers to patronize her Etsy shop before any others.
With equally good humor, she explains the name of the shop: “Lenny is the name of my studio cat. I make the pots, Lenny breaks them. This way, I never run out of shelf space.” She goes on to set some ground rules — sort of:
“Lenny is not for sale. Probably not.”
Mud’s pottery offerings start around $10 apiece and are available via Etsy.

These made me laugh. And I think that’s the idea, right? Esp. love the Leia/Han coffee cup!
These are adorable. She really has a sense of humor. To bring it into housewares is genius.
