The Cook Lounge

June 23, 2011 by

A revolutionary kitchen and living room combination, the Cook Lounge is perfect for a small apartment design. It’s compact layout of chairs adjoined to a kitchen area makes for a sociable and relaxing area.

Some of the most common interior design mistakes are those where comfort and sociability have been overlooked. How many dinner parties start with one couple in the kitchen the others in the living room? The confined layout of the Cook Lounge means the night will always get off to a start with a conversation.

The cooking area can be concealed beneath a slide out sideboard. The table and three chairs can be rearranged many ways, from a formal dining table to a chill out area. The mix of orange and brown offers a warm and harmonious feel to the living room.

The only drawback to this layout would be the risk of oil splashing onto the furniture, and the smell of cooking filling the room. Baring that in the mind, the Cook Lounge may best be suited to a veranda or terrace.

I agree. I think in a living room things may just get a little messy and smelly, but outside, under a roof, this would be great.
