It’s been said that eating food on a bright red plate makes us take in smaller portions. Perhaps it’s the fact that seeing red literally raises our pulses a little; maybe the color actually triggers our hunger response and calms it down; or it could simply be the subconscious signal that red means “stop.”
Any way you slice it, bright red kitchens are a thing to behold, and if they just so happen to trim an inch or two off of our waistlines, so much the better.
