Wave – an innovative and modern hammock

August 18, 2010 by

Traditionally, hammocks are quite basic, a piece of cloth tied between two points so one can relax on the porch or in the shade of a tree. Wave, designed by Erik Nyberg and Gustav Strom and manufactured by Royal Botania breathes life into the classic hammock, giving it a more contemporary look with a makeover in the design.

With its giant canopy, Wave has a very similar design to paragliders, with a wide arched umbrella to protect one from the sunlight, rather than helping to glide in air currents. Crafted using electro-polished stainless steel and two types of perforated fabric (one for the canopy, one for the seat), Wave offers a unique floating experience when one relaxes in it.

Wave was designed to mimic the canopy of a tree whilst being enveloped in a gentle natural environment. It can either be set to rock gently or remain static, perfect for lazing away those hot summer days.
