With an abundance of beautiful forests, people in the northwest take their wood products very seriously. Knowing that, it may come as no surprise to learn that the Oregon based furniture company, The Joinery, crafts some of the most beautiful wood furniture in the world.
Marc Gaudin founded the company over 30 years ago with an emphasis on restoration. That emphasis quickly evolved into designing and producing simply stunning furniture.
These guys are not just making any furniture; they are creating heirloom quality pieces that can be loved for generations. As you can see from the live-edge dining table above, their products are showstoppers. In fact, they are so beautiful they often become the focal point of the room they are in.
The Joinery offers a great selection of styles and wood species to meet the needs of almost any design. Much of their selection is built to order so don’t be surprised if you see an 8-10 week lead-time. In that time, one of their master craftsmen is turning a raw piece of wood into a piece of art which ends with them signing and dating it just for you.
Clearly, they take their craftsmanship very seriously.

In addition to making fantastic furniture, they are also good stewards of the land that provides them their medium. Over 15 years ago they began using wood certified by the Forest Stewardship Council™. They are also committed to creating furniture that will last for generations and is guaranteed for life.
Their facility runs on 100% wind power and they use smart energy to reduce greenhouse gases. Additionally, their delivery trucks run on biofuel and they’ve reduced their landfill amount by 50% with donations of scrap wood.

As if we needed another reason to want to support these guys, they also actively support their community. They hold handcrafting furniture classes in The Joinery’s wood shop where they teach their methods to any average Joe. They also donate a percentage of their profits to charities and participate in Meals on Wheels.
In a market saturated with mass produced furniture, it is truly refreshing to know that there are good guys out there that are devoted to the art of furniture making. While their price point may not be for everyone, they provide investment pieces that will stand the test of time both in quality and style.

Maybe it’s just me, but the dark wood furniture has a sleek but retro ’70s vibe to it.
