Four stylish items, a bench, a bin, a lamp and a planter, make up the Transit collection which was designed by Ross Lovegrove for bdlove. Futuristic and yet simplistic, Transit can be used in any number of settings, form the home, an office, garden, hotel foyer, airport or a shop.
The four pieces take on a bold red and are formed from wide-angled curves. The bench is more seat than back, with just two minimal spikes, allowing people to sit at many different angles and positions. The planter is an unobtrusive figure, with a simple convex for the plant pot. The lamp looks similar to a golf club, an oversized wood, with the light at the handle. Lastly, the bin is unusual as in the base is more narrow than the top, giving it an effect as though it may wobble over.
Thanks to his exquisite ways with forms and textures, Lovegrove has earned a reputation as one of furniture’s most talented designers of the past decade. One of the pioneers of the new naturalism movement, he has designed some of the most memorable modern furniture pieces since the turn of millenium. Transit perfectly illustrates his imagination and timeless style.
