The Ombre Furniture Trend

July 9, 2012 by

Ombre, or a gradation of color from light to dark, is popping up everywhere, from hair to fashion, and now even to furniture and interior design. It can be completed with any color palette of your choice, and you can use paint or stain. Use the ombre technique to brighten up a room and give a new focal point.

Use paint or stain on an old or plain chest of drawers for a lively change. Maintain a traditional look with stain while incorporating the trend.

Even a buffet, lamp shade, or a love seat can benefit from the ombre look.

For an unexpected burst of ombre and an eye-catching detail in the foyer, try ombre balusters.

Ombre can even be taken outdoors and used on patio furniture.

If you’re feeling brave you could even stipple to achieve the highly on-trend ombre look. [...]
