Romeo & Juliet – Furniture for lovers

April 14, 2010 by

By London furniture designer Love Anna James, the Romeo & Juliet furniture is two pieces of matching free-standing cupboards, finished in a fantastic modern art splashed paint effect.

Not the first time we have featured Love Anna James’ retro furniture, her design style bares the hallmarks of 1960s art, in particular, Romeo & Juliet resembles many of the pieces of work by the artist Jackson Pollock.

Romeo & Juiet were actually inspired by Juliet’s house in Verona, Italy, where it is traditional for visitors to attach love notes to the entrance with pieces of chewing gum. Having taken a series of digital images, Anna then transposed the images onto her carefully prepared vintage pieces, which is how this wonderful effect is achieved
