Coining a niche all of his own – New retro-futurism – Dzmitry Samal gives us the wonderful Parallel world furniture collection. Each piece would seem to have one part in this world and the rest in the next as it disappears into the wall. This clever effect is achieved by fixing the parts to the wall in strategic places.
Surrealist furniture is only for the bravest of interior designers, those who dare to push the boundaries of normality and think outside the box. The Parallel world collection consists of eight elements, two bookcases, four shelves and two lamps. The storing systems are made from MDF and the lamps a semi-transparent plastic.
Dzmitry Samal, who took his Masters degree in Milan at the Scuola Polithecnica di Design, has seven years of international experience, and his studies and experiences have taken him to many different as he has collaborated with different companies as well as working with famous fashion designers.
“I propose to you a comprehensive look at my creations, the style of which combines both: the futuristic and retro vision on design. I call it “New Retro-Futurism”, mix of retro design with futuristic and advanced elements. I think that the future of design is in our past experience and heritage covered with nowadays technologies. I’m a keeper of traditional creative approaches but with the very contemporary way of thinking and using of technology.” – Dzmitry Samal
