In the realm of style and decor, it used to be that new was king; ultramodern was the signature of success. These days, though, either we’re all giving in to those soft spots in our hearts for yesteryear, or perhaps logic and frugality have gotten the better of us and we realize that new isn’t always better.
Either way, today we’re featuring some retro finds that have stood the test of time and look even better now than they probably did when they were first manufactured.
From a set of vintage metal containers rounding out a shelf to an old-fashioned, mint-colored top-over-bottom fridge, there’s something sweet and enduring about each of these pieces.
Whether they’re handed down from one generation to the next, found at random in a weekend flea market, or lovingly restored by an artisan and resold at a breathless markup, these sturdy and strong “found objects” from yesterday are right where they ought to be: in the here and now.
