Few icons are as instantly synonymous with the UK as the bold, bright angles of the classic Union Jack. Dating back to 1801, the design’s cross of St. George sits atop the cross of St. Patrick, which in turn covers the cross of St. Andrew — the trio represent the patron saints of England, Ireland and Scotland, respectively.
With heightened interest in our neighbors (um, make that neighbours) across the pond, what with last year’s royal nuptials and the Olympic Games taking place in London as we speak, we thought we’d sit back on a sofa fit for a queen… or a duchess… or perhaps a simple Anglophile who’s just really, really taken by all things British.
Presented by Zuo Modern, this sofa covers a solid hardwood frame in plush black microfiber, with the Union Jack motif emblazoned across its seats and arms in a large-scale rendering.
It runs 83″ wide, 43″ deep, 30 1/2 high — just perfect for a few friends, tea and crumpets and a perfectly posh viewing party of the summer games’ closing ceremonies, live from jolly old England.

Since I’m not English, and since the couch is not pretty, I’m not going to even consider it. I find it funny to be so patriotic, as to ruin the home decor.
