If you are looking for something outrageous, mind blowing and totally unique, then the Fossili Moderni Cabinet will definitely blow your mind. With each passing year, cabinets are taking a whole new revolution and designers are going to the extreme into making cabinets that aren’t the ordinary boring shelves that’s in our grandma’s house. The revolution is for bold, strong and unique concepts and its not for the light hearted.
One look at the Fossili Moderni and you’ll go ‘Whoa!’ The cabinet is designed to be a cabinet container in which the objects can be put in singular “niches” made from the mark of other objects. The way it is designed was intended to vanish or become smaller and smaller as time goes by, left of them in a contemporary material. The objects are imprisoned in a rigid polyurethane resin which comes in different colors. Each element is classified as unique and unrepeatable. This is one furniture piece that is never going to the duplicated or re-created.
The cabinet’s external wrapping made in OSB plywood whereas the filling material is made out of rigid polyurethane in an assortment of different colors. The internal objects are made in plastic material of several kinds. Designed by Massimiliano Adami, the cabinet is created with objects found and hand selected by the artist himself. Born in Monza on 28 November 1969, Adami had his training in Istituto d’Arte di Monza and is among the emerging Italian designer that deserves recognition.
His design takes reuse and recycle to a whole new level by incorporating items that are non-biodegradable and turning it into a work of are that is both aesthetically pleasing and functional as well.
