Amazing surrealist human body furniture lighting

November 9, 2010 by

Designed by Bizzotto, this unusual but simple lamp design is in the shape of a grown male, sitting casually on a pair of colored suitcases. The figure looks relaxed, as though patiently waiting for a train or a flight.

From the neck upwards the head is concealed by the large wide lampshade, a concept similar to those used in surrealist paintings by Rene Magritte, by covering faces with inanimate objects.

So lifelike is the sculpture of the body it is almost like having another person in the room. Unusual and surrealist furniture designs such as this are often the most simplistic ideas, and are perfect for expressive living room designs with a minimalist outlook.

I contacted Bizzotto and they denied designing the Man Lamp. Can any one shed some light on the matter? Thanks,RR

There are two designers with the name Bizzotto. Have you contacted the other?
