These ten rosewood furniture pieces are designed and manufactured by Clayton Oxford, a designer and entrepreneur originally from North Carolina, who travels the world in search of inspiration from different environments to produce eco-friendly home furniture.
As Clayton says…
All of our products are eco-friendly, made from sustainable natural fibers and materials from the indiginous regions in which they are produced. All products are exchanged at “fair market” values and go to support the local craftsmen and struggling economic communities in places such as the Philippines, Indonesia,Vietnam, and Africa.
The manufacturing process begins with collecting offcut rosewood pieces and strips from factories. The pieces are then re-manufactured and finished in an eco-friendly, non VOC based oil. This gives protection to the woods’ natural beauty, producing a finish that will last a lifetime.
Rosewoods are known for their strength and weight, and furniture crafted from this wood is durable, and always well polished. This makes it ideal for flooring, musical instruments, snooker cues, chess sets and other wooden home accessories.
Using the highest quality sustainble materials, such as teak and mahogany, as well as rosewood, Clayton designs and produces distinctive home furnishings that bare all the hallmarks of the exotic places he travels to. Using inspiration from the Alaskan wilderness to the tropics of South East Asia, his eclectic and innovative furniture designs make perfect sense in a modern eco-friendly home.
