There’s Nothing Shady About Installing Blinds in a Bedroom

October 11, 2012 by

If you are looking for window treatments for a bedroom but are looking for an alternative to drapes (which might be overwhelming in a small space), consider one of the many styles of blinds available on the market.

They can provide a clean, neat appearance, while giving you the privacy you want. Some models offer blackout features, and you can find cordless (a must when you are considering a blind for a child’s room) and remote-control styles.

These Honeycomb Shades by 3 Day Blinds are an energy-efficient choice for your home. They keep your room cooler in summer and warmer in the winter months.

When installed, you would see the color you select in your room, while the back of the blind is a neutral tone. Stylish and saves money on energy bills: a winning combination.

Designer shades from Hunter Douglas are available in a number of fabrics. Customers can choose the level of light entering through the blind to control the level of privacy they wish to achieve. Lifting systems and motorization are available.

If allergies are an issue for your family members, several of the fabrics used are GREENGUARD Indoor Quality Certified, which is an indication they meet standards for “better air quality in the home.” Other fabrics are 100 percent PVC-free.

You can choose from Roman shades or roller shades with the type of lifting option you prefer (standard clutch, cordless lifting, or motorized) for a customized look.

Good point about using a neutral color on the outside-facing of the blinds (or drapes)! We had to stare at bright green blinds from our neighbor’s windows for years. It wasn’t until she was over one day and saw how ugly they looked from our POV. She recently took them down. :)
