The time of year is approaching where we like to clean up our houses and give it a new burst of life. Many of us will suffice with a thorough spring clean, however, redecorating a few rooms will have an even more positive result.
A great room to redecorate is your bedroom. You spend a lot of time in that room so therefore it should reflect how you want to feel. As spring is emerging you no longer will want to feel cosy and snug in your room. You may want to feel breezy and have plenty of light and colour flowing onto the beds and other furniture in there.
The first thing to consider is a change of colour on the walls. It may be good to consider what colour bedding you have for your beds. This way you can link in. For example if you have a range of purple bedding you may consider a lavender colour for the wall, or if you have mainly yellow bedding a nice pale green would perfectly match, whilst bringing that spring like feel to your bedroom.
To make your room feel light and spring like, you need to opt for a pale-ish colour that reflects light but also adds a little spark of colour to the mix. Light greens, yellows and purples achieve this as well as orange and red (although they tend to add more heat to the room than lightness.)
Once your walls are done, you can perhaps consider having a new bed or mattress. Beds are an essential in a bedroom, so making a bold statement with them can be advantageous. Beds come in all shapes and sizes so it is advisable to have a good thorough search before you buy one. You will need to ask your-self are you after kingsize or double beds.
With new walls and a new bed you can then add various accessories round the room. Perhaps a new lamp, or install a surround sound stereo system. You may want to keep it simple and have a vase of flowers with an additional spattering of scented candles. This is when you can take over and make it individual.
So get out your paintbrush as well as your duster this spring, and do not forget to spring clean your beds as well! Visit the Bedstar site today for the latest bedroom furniture.
