If you equate a minimalist decorating design with a cold looking bedroom, you are missing the mark. You can keep the lines simple but still add enough color to create an inviting space that you will look forward to coming home to at the end of the day.
This minimalist bedroom design uses basic black as a neutral and the main color in the palette. Adding a bright green softens this effect and helps to lighten up the room. Any color would work well with this design, which means you can choose your favorite color for your room.

Another way to bring some color into a space is through the use of attractive art work. The eye is immediately drawn to the soothing tones of the canvas on the wall, which breaks up simplicity of the space.
The subtle theme of the image gives it an air of serenity, and you can change, reposition or move the artwork to a different wall if you want to give your room a facelift.

Adding an area rug to a bedroom is a quick and easy way to add some color to a bedroom. To give the room a more extensive makeover in a hurry, update the bed linens and add some coordinating accessories on the bedside table.
If you are really feeling ambitious or have some extra coin burning a hole in your pocket, invest in a new lamp or update the bedside table for a new look.

I do like a modern, minimal approach that is not too stark or cold. Less stuff is just so much nicer that things sitting everywhere, I think.
