The easy to assemble Maude Modular bed is both adaptable and stylish. It can be constructed either as a single bed by folding the base in half, or as a double flat bed.
It has a simple, minimalistic design, making it ideal for contemporary bedroom designs.
The base is built in six parts and the matress sits inside. The headrests can be slotted in anywhere at either side. The frame, supports, shelves and slats are all made from one sheet of 2cm thick resin coated plywood.
It is manufactured in Switzerland, home of designer Michael Mettler who resides in Zurich. He has had his own design studio there since 2000. Before that he studied Architecture at Cornell University in New York, ETH in Zurich, and has worked for Herzog & de Meuron and Burkhalter Sumi Architects.
