Man Up: Bedrooms that Will Appeal to Guys, Too

January 6, 2013 by

When choosing items for your bedroom, you want to create a space that is comfortable and relaxing. In many cases, this translates into lots of pillows and a look that may be interpreted as too feminine.

We wanted to offer some decorating options that would be stylish (as well as manly).

This bedroom design proves you don’t have to go for ruffles to make an impact. It has a very modern appeal. The different textures in the room give it a warm, inviting atmosphere.

The cream, brown, and chocolate tones in the area rug brighten up the floor, and the colors are repeated in the quilt and pillows. The flowers on the night stand add just the right touch of brightness and softness to the room.

Making your bedroom appealing to the man in your life doesn’t necessarily mean having to be limited to brown and beige for your color scheme. Chocolate is a great neutral to start with, but consider livening it up with a bold lime green and some white to give the room a thoroughly modern appearance.

By going for texture on the headboard, comforter, and lampshades, you can introduce some softer elements into the room while still preserving its manly essence. The dark pillows are comfortable without being girly. It’s a comfortable space for the two of you to curl up in.

Good point about considering the man whom we’d like to feel comfortable in our shared spaces, often women are left to do the decorating and go off the deep end with their own preferences.

A key for making a bedroom more appealing to man is to decorate his bedroom with items that effectively express his personality and including items that don’t have to be on display.
