- Consider your design style along with space: When you have overnight guests, do you have to pull out a sleeping bag from the closet, or do you have a fashionable futon couch that looks as great as it sleeps? When choosing a bed, consider what your design style is. For a modern and minimalistic approach, consider using sleep sofas that double as a keen piece of furniture. With the ability to transform itself, sleeper sofas have come a long way from your grandmother’s house! Look for models that are light, and can easily be moved in your small space.

- Assess if your bed will go in a bedroom or not: While this may seem obvious, many studio apartments would look better with a futon sofa that can act as a bed, rather than having a trundle daybed inside them. For guest rooms or homes that have separate bedrooms, a trundle style daybed that has a “hidden” bed below is a good option for sleepovers for children as well as adults. If you have a studio or loft style home, opting for a sofa option can fit the aesthetics better.

I really love the West Elm bed!
Love that West Elm bed. Or is it a couch bed? Maybe a day bed? Either way, love it.
I also like the CSN futon. That would also be great in a basement media area!
