Although bathrooms are generally tiny spaces, limitless options abound when it comes to redecorating. And while custom tile, for example, can be a pricey endeavor, the fact that it’s generally applied in a small room — or even just a portion of one — can keep costs down to a dull roar, depending on the materials and degree of difficulty of the job at hand.
The addition of shimmery square tiles (above) can be one of the simplest ways to add serious cachet to a powder room, along with modern sinks and individual mirrors for a bump in visual interest. On the other end of the spectrum are grand, spa-inspired bathrooms with custom vanities, ornate mirrors and complex tile designs, like those below.
And of course, a classic never goes out of style; marble and Greek key patterns lend a timeless sense of opulence unmatched by more contemporary flights of fancy. But one thing is for certain: whatever style we choose, the room in which we begin and end each day, putting on our armor and stripping it all off, can — and should — afford to feel a little luxurious.
