Natural Wood Bathtubs and Washbasins Bring Warmth into this Most Personal Room

August 3, 2012 by

If you have ever looked at the standard porcelain tub and sink and thought that they looked a bit cold, for the room where you do your most personal and private functions, there is another option available. FRANCOCECCOTTI manufactures a line of tubs, washbasins and accessories made from wood.

The Petal sink features an interwoven grain pattern. Its simple and elegant design would complement any color choice you had in mind for your bathroom, and would create an immediate feeling of warmth in the room. This washbasin measures 580 x 390 x145 mm (22 x 15 x 5.7 in).

The Agua is fashioned from larch and is meant to be warm and inviting. When the wood is cut, each board is given a code so that the tub can be made from parts of the same trunk.

The final part of the manufacturing process is hand-finishing the piece to remove any slight defects in the wood and to ensure the the surface has a smooth surface. The tub measures 1800 x 800 x 570 mm (70.8 x 31.4 x 22.4 cm).

The company uses Indian Teak. This wood produces an oil which acts as a natural waterproofer for washbasins and bathtubs. FRANCOCECCOTTI only takes timber harvested from forests which have a reforestation program in place.

These natural wood products do require special care; you would not be able to use a harsh detergent to clean them. A mild soap should be used instead.

Follow the manufacturer’s instructions carefully and you should be able to enjoy these natural wood products for several years.

I’d love to bathe in wood. But seriously, what lifetime does this have? Doesnt it rot at some point?
